ClickTime 7.48

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.48 with an updated REST API and improvements to the company dashboard, single sign-on and reporting. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. REST API version 1.2 – We have a new version of our REST API with new and enhanced methods. This includes support for single sign-on authentication, time off and expense receipts. Version 1.2 of the REST API is accessible by all customers. If you're interested in building and integrating your own custom application with ClickTime, check out our web services documentation.
  2. Single Sign-On (SSO) Enhancements – Customers can now specify the particular sign-on provider to enable for their company (e.g. Google Apps, OneLogin, etc.).
  3. Single Sign-On (SSO) with Okta – Enterprise-level accounts can now sign in to ClickTime using SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) via Okta. Our new partnership with Okta gives ClickTime Enterprise users another option to easily integrate with Active Directory.
  4. Company Dashboard – Recent Timesheets – You can now drill-down into a Timesheet Review directly from the "Recent Timesheet Status" dashboard panel. Just click on the numbers of timesheets that are open, rejected or waiting for approval to get more information.
  5. New Report: Task Availability - Customers using Task List Controls may now download an Excel file showing which tasks are available for each active project. This report includes support for Excel Linking, enabling Enterprise customers to pull the data via XML directly into an existing Excel file or other third-party tools for easy custom reporting and integration.
  6. Bug fix: Locking Timesheets by a Manager - Fixed an issue that prevented a person's timesheet from being locked by a manager when the company is configured for timesheet approvals but the person was not yet configured to submit the timesheet for approval.
  7. Web Browsers – ClickTime continues to offer best-in-class browser support. We support the most recent versions of IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Check out the ClickTime system requirements for updated information about supported versions of these web browsers.

February Updates

We've released several updates this month including improvements to reporting, the employee detail page, and a new currency. Here's what's new this month:

  1. Recently Added People – Administrators will now see a list of recently added people at the top of the People List.
  2. Project Availability Report – The downloadable file is now compatible with all modern versions of Excel. We also added support for Excel Linking, enabling Enterprise customers to pull the data via XML directly into an existing Excel file or other third-party tools for easy custom reporting and integration.
  3. New Currency: Trinidad and Tobago Dollar – We added the Trinidad and Tobago Dollar (TTD) as a currency option. You can now enter your expense receipts in this currency. You may also select the Trinidad and Tobago Dollar as your company's primary currency via Company Preferences.
  4. Company Dashboard – Time Entry Completion Panel – When selecting people to be in the dashboard panel, you may now sort the list of people by the division column.
  5. Employee Detail Page Beta – We added support for audit logging and fixed various issues in the updated beta version.
  6. Bug fix: Timesheet Review – Viewing timesheets "waiting for your approval" now correctly shows all timesheets, regardless of the age of the timesheet. Previously only timesheets from the past 9 months were displayed.
  7. Bug fix: REST API – Fixed an issue when a particular parameter wasn't passed.
  8. Bug fix: Reporting – Fixed an issue that prevented some customers from being able to run reports on data prior to 2003.
  9. Bug fix: Client Billable vs. Non-Billable Report – Fixed a calculation issue with one column's grand total.
  10. Bug fix: Week View – Fixed an issue in some browsers that caused the "notes" icon to display incorrectly when viewing locked days.
  11. Bug fix: Add Person – Fixed an issue that caused the expected hours worked each week to be displayed incorrectly.

ClickTime 7.43

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.43 with improvements to reporting and the employee detail page. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. Employee Detail Page Beta – We added support for custom fields and fixed issues displaying timesheet and expense sheet approvers in the updated beta version. Please try it out today and let us know of any issues or suggestions you have.
  2. ExpenseSheetsByClickTimeExpense Sheet - The printable expense sheet report now includes submission and approval details and displays your company logo if desired. It also references which expenses have receipt images that can be downloaded.
  3. QuickBooks 2014 – We verified that the ClickTime Connector for use with QuickBooks® is compatible with QuickBooks 2014.
  4. Reporting – Several project reports now offer a new filtering option. Companies configured to restrict project access on a "per division" or "per department" basis will now see a new "divisions" tab in the report filtering options. Selecting a division produces a report that includes only those projects to which that division has access.
  5. Bug fix: Reporting – Fixed an issue where clicking the "select all" option didn't always select checkboxes for inactive projects.
  6. Bug fix: Reporting – Fixed an issue where the "Time Off and Accrual Detail" report displayed an incorrect starting balance.

ClickTime 7.42

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.42 with improvements to reporting and the employee detail page. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. Employee Detail Page Beta – We improved improved the functionality and fixed various issues on the new version. Once you try using the updated page, you will continue to use it when editing people in the future unless you choose to "opt out" of using the beta version.
  2. Reporting – More than 10 pre-built person, client, project and expense reports were enhanced with more output options (on-screen HTML, PDF or Excel) for all browsers and operating systems.
  3. Stopwatch – You can now easily clean-up abandoned stopwatches from previously approved timesheets.
  4. New Currency Option – We added the Vietnamese Dong as a currency option. You can now enter your expense items in this currency. You may also select it as your company's primary currency via Company Preferences.
  5. Bug fix: Timesheet View and Horizontal Timesheet Report - The daily column totals now maintain alignment properly as you switch between different timesheets.
  6. Bug fix: Reporting – Fixed an issue that could cause inactive clients and projects to appear in reports.
  7. Bug fix: Duplicating Projects - Fixed an issue that prevented some managers from duplicating projects using the link on the project detail page.

ClickTime 7.4

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.4 with improved single sign-on (SSO) options and enhancements to Resource Planning and the employee detail page. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. Single Sign-On (SSO) – Enterprise-level accounts can now sign in to ClickTime using SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) via OneLogin. Our new partnership with OneLogin lets ClickTime Enterprise users easily integrate with Active Directory.
  2. Design Preview of Employee Detail Page – Administrators can now edit managerial settings on the new employee detail page. Managers may now also use the new employee detail page.
  3. Resource Planning – We made it easier to filter people and projects by increasing the default selection window size and by remembering your selections while editing saved filters. You can now also set your company preferences to hide the "Non Allocated" project from Resource Planning. IE 8 users can now also view the lifetime budget chart. 
  4. List Views – Billing rates and cost rates are no longer visible in people, project and task lists when viewed by managers who do not have permission to "view costs" or "view billing rates" in reports.
  5. Bug fix: New Projects – Fixed an issue when creating a new non-billable job for companies without Resource Planning and lifetime budgets enabled.
  6. Bug fix: DCAA – Fixed an issue that may prevent editing old time entries on a DCAA-flagged timesheet.
  7. Bug fix: Report Previews – Report preview images now display on the client and project detail pages.
  8. Bug fix: Week View – You can now properly view old timesheet entries that are associated with inactive types of time off.

ClickTime 7.35

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.35 with a new "set my home page" feature and improvements to Resource Planning, reporting and the employee detail page. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. Set My Home Page – You may now decide which page is the first page you see when you sign into ClickTime. Click the "Set as Home Page" link at the bottom right corner of a page to designate it as your home page.
  2. Design Preview of Employee Detail Page – We added support for all billing rate models, automatic saving when navigating between tabs, improved in-line messaging, and fixed various issues with IE8 and IE9.
  3. Resource Planning – We've improved performance in Resource Planning for Internet Explorer 10 users and fixed a minor sorting issue.
  4. Week View – We improved performance for the week-at-a-glance timesheet entry mode.
  5. Day View – We improved the messaging if something goes askew while using a stopwatch to update your timesheet.
  6. Report Previews – We updated the report preview screenshots for Company and Personal reports to make it even easier to find the perfect report.
  7. ClickTime Desktop App – We updated the application with better looking icons for people using Windows 7.
  8. Dashboard Improvements – We improved the Time Entry Completion and "Projects to Watch" panels for managers with limited permissions. The top area of the dashboard with links to help and a video tour may also now be hidden from view by clicking the "hide" link.
  9. Bug fix: Project Lifetime Overview Report – Fixed an issue when the report was run for a project with no time entered against it.
  10. Bug fix: Stopwatch – Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions starting and stopping stopwatches as the computer's clock crossed midnight, a stopwatch could by started for yesterday.
  11. Web Browsers – ClickTime continues to offer best-in-class browser support. We support the recently released Chrome 29 and Firefox 23. Check out the ClickTime system requirements for more information about supported browsers.

ClickTime 7.2

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 7.2 with improvements to Resource Planning and reporting. Here's what's new in this release:

  1. Resource Planning - Saved FiltersResource Planning – Saved Filters – We've added the ability to save custom filters in Resource Planning. Now you can quickly pull up custom-built Resource Planning filters that display the metrics that matter most to you. We've provided several helpful filters to get you started.
  2. Resource Planning – New Charting – We've updated the charts in Resource Planning to enhance data visualization. Now charts are bolder, more vivid, and easier to read.
  3. Resource Planning – Interface Overhaul – We heard your feedback and we greatly improved the Resource Planning interface and overall experience. Resource Planning - Navigation The new user interface makes it easier to navigate between views, and presents your data in a cleaner and more concise fashion. You can also now quickly access Resource Planning from anywhere in ClickTime via the tab at the top of every page.
  4. Integration – We added an Integration area under the Company tab to make it easier to find information on integrating ClickTime with other applications including Google Apps, QuickBooks, OpenID, Single-Sign On (SSO) and Web Services (SOAP and REST).
  5. Report Formatting – We adjusted the page size on some reports to better use the full page height. This results in more information per page and reducing the number of total pages in PDF reports.
  6. Bugfix: Report Builder and Firefox – Sharing Report Builder custom reports works properly with versions 18 or 19 of the Firefox web browser.
  7. Bugfix: Timesheet Completeness Dashboard Panel – The "Full Report" link works for companies with many divisions.
  8. Bugfix: Project Availability Report – The Project Availability report works for managers with reporting permissions on all divisions.

ClickTime 6.9

With the release of ClickTime version 6.9, we added the ability to use custom fields in your timesheets and introduced other enhancements as follows:

    1. Timesheet Custom Fields – In addition to tracking client, project and task information, you can now easily add custom fields for your employees to fill out with each timesheet entry. The custom fields can be almost anything you want, including text, numbers, currency, pop-down lists and more.

 

    1. Customizable Data Export and Excel Linking – Custom fields associated with timesheet entries are exportable via the Customizable Data Export report. This custom field data is also directly retrievable within your own custom Excel charts and dashboards (via the Excel Linking feature available to Corporate customers).

 

    1. Report Builder – We’ve improved the Report Builder tool to support custom fields associated with timesheet entries. Now you can also include data from up to 15 different custom fields in each report that you create.

 

    1. Timesheet View – We updated the Timesheet View to include Timesheet Custom Field information.

 

    1. Horizontal Timesheet – We updated the Horizontal Timesheet report to include Timesheet Custom Field information.

 

    1. Week View – You can now resize the column widths on your timesheet via the Options menu. This includes the ability to resize the client, job, task and custom field columns. You can also use custom fields in the Week View time entry screen with all supported browsers.

 

    1. Day View (beta) – We updated this time entry interface to support custom fields and resizing of client, job, task and custom field column widths via the Options menu.

 

    1. Extended Session Length – We added longer session length options to all accounts, including Basic & Corporate customers. All customers who were previously set to the maximum length available (4 hours for Basic and 8 hours for Corporate customers) are now automatically set to 12 hours. In your company preferences, you may change this to a duration as long as 24 hours or as short as 30 minutes.

 

    1. Expense Sheets – We refreshed the look-and-feel of the expense tracking interfaces to match the updated aesthetics of the time-tracking portion of the application.

 

    1. Password Strength – We added 18 symbols to the allowed list of characters that can be used in your ClickTime password. Now you can create even stronger passwords than before.

 

    1. Omani Rial – We added the Omani Rial (OMR) as a currency option. You can now enter your expense items in this currency. You may also select the Omani Rial as your company’s primary currency via Company Preferences.

 

    1. Web Browser Compatibility – We continue to support the most current versions of the most popular web browsers. This includes the recently released Chrome 14 and Firefox 7. Check out the ClickTime system requirements for more information about supported browsers.

ClickTime 6.5

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 6.5. The update includes a new Timesheet View, improved timesheet approval workflow and much more.  The changes are as follows:

  1. Timesheet View – We rebuilt the Timesheet View with a brand new look and implemented some great
    new methods for reviewing your timesheet. The new view gives you the option to summarize your timesheet by clients, jobs, phases, sub-phases or tasks across each
    timesheet.
  2. Timesheet Approval Workflow Improvements – We've streamlined common processes for managers and administrators. The improvements are especially helpful when you need to edit someone else's timesheet that was previously submitted for approval or was already approved.
  3. ClickTime Connector for use with QuickBooks® – This is now a public beta available to all customers. Just sign in and set your accounting application to QuickBooks in your company preferences, and then go to the Download tab to get the Connector. We've disabled the old "QuickBooks Reimbursable Expense Export (beta)" report. The new ClickTime Connector is a big improvement over the old IIF export formats. We encourage all QuickBooks users to try the new ClickTime Connector and let us know if you have any issues or enhancement requests.
  4. Updated Reports – We improved the appearance of several reports in the My Reports section under the Personal tab.
  5. Apple iOS 4 Support – We officially support Apple's newest iPhone and the iOS 4 update. You can use our Mobile Edition as well as the main web application with your iOS-based mobile devices.
  6. Mongolian Tugrik – We added the Mongolian Tugrik (MNT) as a currency option. You can now enter your expense items in this currency. You may also select the Tugrik as your company's primary currency via Company Preferences.
  7. Documentation – We updated the online and PDF
    documentation to reflect the most recent updates. Administrators may
    download the user manuals (PDF) from the Quick View page after
    signing in. The online help is available by clicking the "help" links
    that appear in the upper and lower right-corners of every page after
    signing in to ClickTime.
