ClickTime 6.9

With the release of ClickTime version 6.9, we added the ability to use custom fields in your timesheets and introduced other enhancements as follows:

    1. Timesheet Custom Fields – In addition to tracking client, project and task information, you can now easily add custom fields for your employees to fill out with each timesheet entry. The custom fields can be almost anything you want, including text, numbers, currency, pop-down lists and more.

    1. Customizable Data Export and Excel Linking – Custom fields associated with timesheet entries are exportable via the Customizable Data Export report. This custom field data is also directly retrievable within your own custom Excel charts and dashboards (via the Excel Linking feature available to Corporate customers).

    1. Report Builder – We’ve improved the Report Builder tool to support custom fields associated with timesheet entries. Now you can also include data from up to 15 different custom fields in each report that you create.

    1. Timesheet View – We updated the Timesheet View to include Timesheet Custom Field information.

    1. Horizontal Timesheet – We updated the Horizontal Timesheet report to include Timesheet Custom Field information.

    1. Week View – You can now resize the column widths on your timesheet via the Options menu. This includes the ability to resize the client, job, task and custom field columns. You can also use custom fields in the Week View time entry screen with all supported browsers.

    1. Day View (beta) – We updated this time entry interface to support custom fields and resizing of client, job, task and custom field column widths via the Options menu.

    1. Extended Session Length – We added longer session length options to all accounts, including Basic & Corporate customers. All customers who were previously set to the maximum length available (4 hours for Basic and 8 hours for Corporate customers) are now automatically set to 12 hours. In your company preferences, you may change this to a duration as long as 24 hours or as short as 30 minutes.

    1. Expense Sheets – We refreshed the look-and-feel of the expense tracking interfaces to match the updated aesthetics of the time-tracking portion of the application.

    1. Password Strength – We added 18 symbols to the allowed list of characters that can be used in your ClickTime password. Now you can create even stronger passwords than before.

    1. Omani Rial – We added the Omani Rial (OMR) as a currency option. You can now enter your expense items in this currency. You may also select the Omani Rial as your company’s primary currency via Company Preferences.

    1. Web Browser Compatibility – We continue to support the most current versions of the most popular web browsers. This includes the recently released Chrome 14 and Firefox 7. Check out the ClickTime system requirements for more information about supported browsers.

ClickTime 6.81

Following up on last week's release comes ClickTime version 6.81. The update includes improvements to our Day View beta, horizontal timesheet reports, list views, expense tracking, web services and more. The changes are as follows:

  1. Day View (beta) – We implemented numerous bug fixes and interface improvements.
  2. Horizontal Timesheet Reports – We refined the recently redesigned and rebuilt horizontal timesheet reports that appear in the "Reports" area under the Company tab and the "My Reports" area under the Personal tab. We changed how time off appears in the report and made some other cosmetic changes to fit more information per page. We're also working on additional enhancements based on the feedback we're getting.
  3. List Views – We fixed an issue so that when reactivating a project from the Project list view, the project's associated client automatically gets reactivated if necessary. Additionally, deactivating a client from the Client list view will automatically deactivate all of its associated projects.
  4. Division List Export – We added the ability to export custom fields associated with divisions when running the "Division List Export" report.
  5. Web Services – We added a new method for obtaining detail information about divisions.
  6. Expenses – We fixed an issue which caused the wrong name to appear when a manager or administrator prints another person's expense sheet.

ClickTime 6.8

We are happy to announce the release of ClickTime version 6.8. The update includes new functionality and performance improvements to our Timesheet View and Horizontal Timesheet reports. The changes are as follows:

  1. New Horizontal Timesheet Reports – We rebuilt the horizontal timesheet reports that appear in the "Reports" area under the Company tab and the "My Reports" area under the Personal tab. You can now run these reports for any length of time (no more 16-day limit!) and all supported browsers and operating systems can access the HTML and PDF versions of this report. In addition to a new look-and-feel that matches what's seen in Timesheet View, you can now control whether it includes client, task, phase and sub-phase information in the report.
  2. Timesheet View – We've made improvements to the printable (PDF) version based on customer feedback. Printing a timesheet from the Timesheet View will now produce the same result as printing the Horizontal Timesheet report.
  3. Day View (beta) – We implemented numerous improvements and bug fixes to the beta time entry screen. We also added the ability to delete a time entry by entering a zero in the hours field (unless your account is configured to allow zero-hour entries). We appreciate all of the customers who are giving us feedback on this new time entry page.
  4. Week View – We made various improvements to the Week View time entry interface including the ability to delete a time entry by entering a zero in the hours field (unless your account is configured to allow zero-hour entries).
  5. Updated UI – We updated the look-and-feel of many of the pages under the Personal tab and made some minor enhancements to other pages.
  6. Expenses – We made it easier for administrators and managers to print or download employee expense sheets and receipts while reviewing expense sheets.
  7. Fluid App Support – You can now login using Fluid web apps created from Fluid 1.0.
  8. Web Browser Compatibility – We continue to support the most current versions of the most popular web browsers. This includes Chrome 11 and versions 3.6 and newer of Firefox. Check out the ClickTime system requirements for more information.

  9. Advanced Billing Rates - The advanced billing rate options are now available to Corporate customers only. Existing customers on the Basic plan who were already using an advanced billing rate model will be able to continue using their current account without any changes.

QuickBooks 2011 Compatibility

QuickBooks 2011 We are happy to announce that the ClickTime Web Application and the ClickTime Connector for use with QuickBooks® are compatible with the recently released QuickBooks 2011. The ClickTime Connector for use with QuickBooks, a public beta available to all customers, allows companies to integrate timesheet and expense data seamlessly with QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Premier, and QuickBooks Enterprise (2005-2011). The latest version of the Connector now confirms that time tracking is enabled in your QuickBooks file before you can start importing time.

To download and use the latest public beta of the Connector, just sign in and set your accounting application to QuickBooks in your company preferences, and then go to the Integration section under the Company tab. If you have already installed a previous beta version, it will automatically update itself the next time you open the Connector.

The ClickTime Connector is a big improvement over the old IIF export formats. We encourage all QuickBooks users to try the new ClickTime Connector and let us know if you have any issues or enhancement requests.
