You have to be joking. I need to install Microsoft Silverlight before I can use your desktop app?!

Let me know when you’ve developed a real native app (and one for the iPad while you’re at it).

Christiaan, we appreciate your feedback and opinion regarding using Microsoft’s Silverlight technology for the new ClickTime Desktop Application. We wanted to build a cross-platform application that could be used equally by all of our Mac and Windows customers (and hopefully on Linux too via Moonlight, an open source implementation of Silverlight). We recognize that not everyone wants to install plug-ins on their computer, but Silverlight provides a very good cross-platform solution that supports out-of-browser operation, online and offline modes and our engineering team is ready to deploy it without massive changes to our infrastructure.

In addition to producing a new Desktop Application, we are also evaluating the creation of a native application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. If this is something you’re interested in, please contact us and let us know what you want in a new iPhone/iPad application (basic time and expense entry, reporting, specific administrative functions, etc.).
